bloodlust

i will be the first to admit that i am a sucker for any kind of vampire novel out there. especially when it is a bloodsucking teenage romance novel. imagine my surprise when i missed the boat on twilight. i guess having 2 children 24 months apart can keep you out of the loop. but how did i miss such a wonderfully delicious book?? i got hooked on the outlander series a while back-probably about the time twilight was released. i became obsessed with finishing the outlander series, which is not an easy feat when you have a 2 year old and a newborn, but i did it-i am also a sucker for timebending books about hot scottish warrior men in kilts.

supergrrl had her tonsils out yesterday. my mom went to borders and bought me a copy of twilight, to read while she was in surgery and post op.
OH how i LOVED the book- i finished it in one day-I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. well, i put it down to drive the car-but thats it.
i didn't know how much i missed having a series of books like these in my life- every gal needs to have her heart a flutter while reading about a young beautiful vampire love.
so i am off today to buy the next book-maybe i'll buy the rest of the series and devour it over the holiday weekend.
then what??
i guess i will be digging out my old worn copies of the vampire chronicles, and trying to find reruns of Buffy the vampire slayer.

supergrrl had the pox-the chicken pox-
which you never hear about anymore
(i thought she just had an annoying case of mosquitoe bites- we do live in the deep south, with a creek in our backyard, so it wasn't too much of a stretch)
after we were shown out of the backdoor of the drs. office-so as not to infect any unsuspecting children-i decided to take my little typhoid mary to the voter registration building to vote early!
this had been something that supergrrl and i were planning to do together and i figured what the hell, we had nothing else to do and i didn't want to have to stand in an annoyingly long line with stodgy old men and my 5 five year..
so we went home and supergrrrl put on her Obama shirt and we headed to the polls
i had wondered if voting early would somehow be an emotional letdown..
man i was wrong!
we were shown into a small voting area-
there were spots for 8 people and we were the sixth -
i whispered all the candiates for president to supergrrrl- she grinned and announced-quite loudly- "were voting for Obama,Mama"
she pressed the screen-she was so excited her fingers were trembling- i have to say my heart was a flutter too
we went through the ballot- i had to read the whole thing out loud-much to the dismay of all the Mccain voting old farts-
every time she pressed the screen, she would announce our choice.
as we were leaving the man behind the counter asked supergrrl if she enjoyed her voting experience
"oh yeah, we rocked the vote for Barack" was her response-

the reemergence of my waist

did you know today is the happiest day of the year?
i was informed of this while listening to the radio at 5 a.m. this morning.
seriously, i just rolled my ass out of bed-threw on some workout clothes-stumbled out to the car and i am told by some jazzed up dj that its the happiest day of the year.
truth be told, by 6:30 it did feel like it might be a really good day- i survived another grueling day of boot camp and when i got home i noticed something that made me SMILE!
my waist
it's back... i have had my ass kicked for 2 months now and its finally starting to show.
i missed my waist-
there is no joy in having big boobs and big hips without a nice waist to show them off-
and i wasn't the only one who noticed-p daddy spotted me from across the house and he too was very excited(wink,wink) at the reemergence of my waistline. happy me= lucky him
so i am very happy on this happiest of days-

i am dreaming of taking a vacation-boat ride down the amazon river then over to machu picchu..
reality-preach just recovered from tonsilectomy and supergrrl scheduled to have hers out in a couple of weeks
maybe next year....

Hello Summer

summer's here!!
yippppeeee
my little heroes couldn't be more excited!
today is supergrrrl's last day of school-she starts horse camp next week
preacher man has been home for a month now and we have had so many adventures already.
P daddy has a summer job- GASP!-
who thought that would ever happen?? he is so excited-it is his dream job-hope it all works out.
just finished my last day of boot camp (for the month of may)
in one month i shaved a minute and a half off my timed mile- i can actually run a full mile now!
thats the most impressive thing.
i can do 40 pushups in a minute and 50 crunches/4 real situps in a minute
i go on monday to get my post assessment measurements and weigh in-
lets see what else is going on...
i will be trying out for the classic city roller girls at the end of june-
its a local roller derby team-i have always wanted to do this and figured what the hell :)
i am waiting to hear from the kids school-i put my application in for an assitants job......

2 wonderful ways to spend a spring day!

i have just finished signing up for a month long boot camp.
time has run out on my baby weight excuse-5 1/2 years, yep times out on that excuse.
so i'll keep everyone posted
my first day is may 5th-5:30 a.m.
i will try and do some before and after pics..
my goal is to lose all the weight i gained since kids- by my 32nd birthday.
this translates to 60 pounds in 6 months
i am not sure if thats realistic but thats what i am aiming for!

i went to pick up preach from the sitter yesterday and was greeted at the door with some wonderful news.
preach had taken a crap and gotten it all over himself and rubbed it into Ms. M's carpet.
why would a sweet boy do such a thing???
because he wanted Ms. M to give him a bubble bath..

i pick up supergrrrl at school and i am informed she has wet pants-
wet pants,huh?
strange-she is a little old for this sort of thing.
why,what happend?
she wanted to pee like a boy-she was tired of having to sit down!

superheroes never sleep

10:00 p.m.
she bursts from her room.
her hair has reached afroic proportions-she is wearing her yellow striped bikini.
in her hand, her pink blanket.
-"mom,you need to tie this around my neck".she hands over the blanket
-"no way, it's 3 hours PAST your bedtime and i'm not going to tie a blanket around your neck and then put you to sleep."
-"it's not a blanket it's my cape....
I AM SUPER GIRL- i must have my cape"
-"O.K ....SUPER GIRL, I'm still not going to tie this around your neck, you need to be in bed asleep"
-her eyes narrow,her hands go to her hips,she flips back her jr. afro
"I CANNOT be worried about sleep, I am a SUPERHERO- superhero's do not sleep- i never know when I might be needed"
-she grabs her cape and heads back into her room
-she is asleep 5 minutes later

(had my gall bladder surgey feb 1.-hanging in there but not up for writing much..)

Zen Motherhood

I have decided to let go.
let go of my expectations
my worries
my schedule
my pre conceived notions
i am going to become one with my little heroes.
i am going to achieve zen motherhood...

(now i just have to figure out how to enlighten the little heroes into a state of zen childhood)

the reign of barbie has sadly come to an end.
as most of you know,preacher man is unable to resist the sirens call of barbie.
the obsession has also spilled over to any and all disney princesses.
these small plastic figurines have taken over his life.
they have become his kryptonite.
supermom and her trusty sidekick,P Daddy, made a very hard and heartbreaking decision today
-we must phase out these toys that torment our sweet little preacher man.
P Daddy and preach cut down his collection to just 1 barbie and 1 disney princess tonight..
all barbie and princess movies have been put up
all dresses and heels are now in temporary hiatus
my heart is breaking for my littlest superhero
i know this is something we need to do for him but it is so very hard
so send us your best MOJO
supermom and the preach are gonna need all the help we can get!!

supermom:well, i don't know-you really need to go to bed early tonight to fight off this cold..

supergrrl: OH MOM you look sooo beautiful, i mean gorgeous- you don't even look like yourself
supermom: WHAT-what do you mean by that??? i look pretty-therefore i don't look like myself:(
supergrrl: yeah thats right- you look like a mommy now-a mommy with a big ole mommy bottom

well lets just examine this outrageous claim...

all was right with the world when our heroes went to bed last night.
supergrrrl asleep in her sleeping bag, under her loft bed. her trusty sidekick,punky,a 9 year old bulldog,snoring peacefully beside her.
preacher man, buried under his pile of blankets. just the tip top of his blond head sticking out.
but sometime between midnight and 7:00- it struck.
that which cripples even the strongest superhero...
conjunctivitis
2 pairs of little, red,crusty eyes greeted me this morning
so we are off to the store..
to buy black tea bags and baby shampoo
(a wonderful cure for this nasty virus)
i only hope the sight of my crusty eyed children doesn't send fellow patrons running away in fear

and so it begins...

for too long i have resisted the temptation to enter the blogging world.
being the parent of two up and coming superheroes is enough to wear even the most super of supermoms down.
so with sleepy eyes, a cup of coffee and stories of the dynamic duo, supergrrrl and preacher man, i surrender what little time i have to the joys of blogging...
